The Nitty Gritty Details

Here’s how the Membership works: There are 12 Courses in the Membership.  

Each course has video lessons for each section. The videos are usually 5-15 minutes long. Each course comes with a downloadable workbook that you can access as a digital PDF or print out to help apply the course.  

Membership also comes with a monthly Live Group Call. These are always recorded, and you can watch recordings of hundreds of previously answered questions. 

These live calls are hosted in our Member Community. This is a place to connect with others through discussion boards, sharing wins, and participating in challenges to help you apply the skills you are learning. 

How long does it take? 

For the Mental Health Roadmap, there are 5 Core Courses and 7 Specialized Courses.  We will help you find the right courses for your individual needs. 

If you only watched 15 minutes per day, it would take around 3-4 months to complete all 12 of the courses. You can move at your own pace, you can watch more than one video at a time, and finish a course in a day if you want. Courses range from 2 to 12 hours in total length. By the end of each course, you’ll know dozens of new skills to regulate your nervous system, work through tricky thoughts, and process your emotions. Do I have to do them in order?

Hi, I’m Emma McAdam

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist, and I love helping people transform their lives. Understanding mental health can be confusing and stressful, but there’s hope! Your brain is wired to change, and deep healing is possible. My mission is to guide you through this process. Through YouTube videos and online courses, I make mental health skills accessible. Therapy in a Nutshell focuses on small, simple steps leading to significant change and growth. I help people not just feel better, but get better at feeling. With over 20 years of experience, I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Utah State University and am licensed in Utah. My diverse background includes juvenile corrections, wilderness therapy, residential treatment, and outpatient therapy.
